Missy’s highly successful tour has been full of surprises. Back in August, she surprised a crowd in Brooklyn with her good friend and their hometown hero, Lil Kim.
The trek, which also features Ciara, Busta Rhymes and Timbaland, hit Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
During Missy’s headlining set, she brought Kim out to roaring screams, and together the pair performed Kim’s 2003 hit “The Jumpoff,” as well as their 1997 collab, “Not Tonight (Ladies Night).”
Missy’s first-ever headlining tour, the 24-city Out Of This World Tour kicked off on July 4 in Vancouver. The trek wrapped up on August 22 in Rosemont, Illinois.
Despite the meteoric success of the run, not every show was a walk in the park for the “Lose Control” rapper.
She received some special treatment from Usher after a particularly grueling show.
Back in July, she revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that she suffers from bad migraines, which flared up during her performance in Atlanta.
Luckily for Missy, ATL transplant own Usher was backstage to soothe her post-show pains with his healing hands.
“Big up my fam @Usher who came to not just one of my shows but TWO & hopefully 3,” she wrote. “what ppl don’t know is I suffer migraines and I performed yesterday in ATL with the WORST migraine nauseated & all.
“[And] he came back stage & did pressure points on my hands[.] yes he do it all [crying face emoji].”
Missy’s post was accompanied by a photo of Usher working his magic on the Virginia Beach native’s pressure points, as well as pictures of them sharing a hug and posing for the camera.
Missy Elliott has been open about her health issues over the years, most recently discussing her battle with Graves’ disease.
In an interview with PEOPLE before the tour, the 53-year-old explained that she experienced severe weight loss and other health issues due to the autoimmune disorder.
Thankfully, things are much better now thanks to medication and a daily routine that includes walking and prayer.
“Every day I wake, I’m blessed to be here and in good health,” she said. “I’m feeling so much better now. That was a run. Every now and then you get a little ache in the leg or the knee, but outside of that, I feel good.”
