Quavo & Offset Mourn TakeOff On Anniversary Of His Death: 'Forever In Our Hearts'
Quavo and Offset have both mourned the loss of their Migos groupmate TakeOff on the second anniversary of his death.
Quavo, who was TakeOff’s uncle, took to Instagram on Friday (November 1) to share two photos of him with his nephew, writing underneath: “Til Infinity [infinity sign emoji, rocket ship emoji].”
The “Turn Yo Clic Up” rapper also paid tribute to TakeOff on his Instagram Stories, sharing a picture of the two of them together alongside the caption: “My heart been gone [heart emoji].”
Above another image, he wrote: “Forever In Our Hearts [infinity sign emoji, black heart emoji, rocket ship emoji].”
Offset also continued to grieve TakeOff’s death by posting multiple photos of him with his late collaborator.
Check out some of the tributes below.
TakeOff (real name Kirshnik Ball) was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in the early hours of November 1, 2022. The 28-year-old was fatally wounded after a dice game turned violent and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Quavo, who was with TakeOff at the time of the shooting, was unscathed, while two other victims were transported to nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds.
A man named Patrick Xavier Clark has been charged with the rapper’s murder and was previously on house arrest after posting a $1 million bond. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
While Quavo and Offset were seemingly at odds even before the tragedy, the recent passing of fellow Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan appears to have inspired them to bury the hatchet for good.
Following Quan’s death, which was later ruled an accidental overdose, Quavo posted a number of throwback pictures of the Migos with the late rapper on social media.
He then followed up with some positive news, writing: “Good convo with my bro @offsetyrn [link emoji] [praying hands emoji].”
