DJWapWap: Can you tell us about your journey into music and what inspired you to pursue a career in this industry?

Conrad Bridges: Someone I use to skateboard with who was practicing beat making started sending me some, and so I started writing and practicing rapping. Then when I got into the trucking industry in 2013 I felt like I had the time and space after work to express myself with beats I was then making with a laptop and keyboard and mic in the sleeper of the truck, and so it just grew from there. I never had dreams of being a musical artist this was just the only means of me having the space to release my thoughts and emotions in a place that I could get them out without abuse from family or acquaintances growing up.

DJWapWap: How would you describe your musical style and the influences that have shaped it?

Conrad Bridges: Self therapy is my musical style, I’ve never sat down and been like okay I’m gonna make a song about this, naw it’s always been only a space for me to let go of things verbally. Thinking about this question Lil Wayne’s Go Dj video pops into my mind, I remember watching it one day before walking to school and years later hearing him or maybe others talk about his work ethic I think has been a great inspiration in knowing that I need to just keep working and that’s what I try to do.

DJWapWap: What is the creative process like for you when writing and producing new music?

Conrad Bridges: I’m writing everyday, journaling out what  I’ve been through, memories that I’ve suppressed etc. while learning new things as well, and all that goes into my notes for songs I make later. Along with my journals I also find myself very unsocial even tho I’m around people all day shuttling up and down the rockies near Denver, so when I do make music or find someones beat to do my thang with, its like I’m finally in a space where I can talk and not feel judged and so I may freestyle a song, keep it as is which on some of my albums with the 29 plus tracks on it like “Just a Stream of Thoughts” etc. some of the songs are like that

DJWapWap: Can you share the story behind your single "Scared To Say"?

Conrad Bridges: I made “Scared To Say” at a rest area in the sleeper part of the 18 wheeler working for Swift Enterprises trucking company, probably about a year and half ago now. I think was having to take a 34 hour reset if you familiar with trucking, and I really can’t tell you what triggered the song, I got so much built up in me that this was just the time I felt I had to get some stuff out along with other tracks you can hear on the “Emotional About It” album. So thanks to the producers beats I bought because those sounds was really what helped me feel like I can express what I did on those tracks.

DJWapWap: How do you handle the pressures and challenges that come with being in the music industry?

Conrad Bridges: I'm sure i've not experience even the slightest of pressure that will come however i plan to show up with the work in mind knowing i'm here for a reason and that's not to get pulled into others agendas, I'm here to work and enjoy the people I'm blessed to work with and express myself like on this Q&A interview and be honest by respecting myself and not care if i don't received that from anyone else, it's gone be a lot of fun.

DJWapWap: Who are some artists or musicians that you look up to or consider your biggest inspirations?

Conrad Bridges: I don’t look up to anyone, Just straight into they eyes. I will say If they music has been on MTV BET CMT VH1 then you’ve inspired me however when and if I ever work with any artist that will be the biggest inspiration because I will then be working with someone who I think we relate on some meaningful level and then coming together to create something beautiful will mean the most to me.

DJWapWap: How do you connect with your fans, and what role do they play in your music career?

Conrad Bridges: I’ve been my only fan until just recently seeing my Spotify fan list growing but like I’ve said this has been a personal thing for me, I honestly don’t know how I will connect with them or what they want from me…yet, I’m sure as I get more exposure I’ll be finding out soon and this will be a new journey for me as well being that I’m a bit of a loner and have spent the better part of these past 11 years long haul trucking and moving from school to school state to state before that so I’m excited to have people as fans of my music and me finding how we interact with each other and hopefully building a lasting community with not just fans but people who I can call friends who get it.

DJWapWap: What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far?

Conrad Bridges: Starlight PR promoting “Scared To Say” You and others interviewing something about me that has made me feel seen and heard. So thank ya’ll this is overwhelming and exciting and the beginning of more memorable moments.

DJWapWap: Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you're excited about?

Conrad Bridges: I got so much written out as well as songs I’ve made that I haven’t put out yet, but check out “Sabotage Is All I’ve Known” on the “Emotional About It” album because the beginning of summer I threw all my recording equipment in the dumpster thinking I was done with music, sabotaging myself once again, however I did save some files on a external hard rive and a laptop with a broken screen I’ll have to get fixed so I can access more stored music, unknown to my little tantrum. So with that and all these new projects I’ve been working on, I wish I could tell ya but currently I’m just focusing on writing every day and getting my lyrics written out on my other three albums so ya’ll know what I’m saying on these tracks.

DJWapWap: What advice would you give to aspiring musicians who want to follow in your footsteps?

Conrad Bridges: Don’t be following me cause I won’t be following you meaning learn from others but the answers you want  are always inside of you, so listen to yourself, you know what you want and its only by showing up like the sun everyday will what you plant grow.
