Burna Boy is speaking out after facing criticism for a viral clip where he halted his show in Denver to call out a fan who had fallen asleep in the front row. In the video, he stops performing, points toward the woman, and says, “When I stand up here and see you over there with your girl sleeping … it pisses me the f*** up.” He followed it by saying, “I’m not doing another song until you go home.” Security then stepped in and escorted the woman and her boyfriend out of the concert.

Burna Boy could’ve handled that situation better. He had no idea what I was going through.”

She continued by explaining that she has been “mentally, physically, and emotionally drained” since the death of her daughter’s father. She said she went to the concert hoping to feel even a small bit of happiness “after everything that has happened.”

He compared the incident to being removed from an airplane for distracting the pilot or getting sent out of a classroom for interrupting a teacher. “My shows have people who have beaten cancer or overcome something serious, and none of them have ever slept lol,” he wrote.

He added, “I leave my soul on every stage I get on. Even if it’s only 10 people in attendance.
