SolÅce Uses R&B Layered Tones and Subtle Elements on the Sultry “Op3rator”

CHICAGO - With hip-hop, pop, and electronica influences, SolÅce creates an R&B sound that rivals many but is uniquely his own.

“I stay true to my R&B roots, but at the same time, because of my influences, my sound creativity varies and has a breadth to it,” said SolÅce. “I love electronica too, so there’s always this element that is an undercurrent.”

Born in Belize and raised on Chicago’s southside, SolÅce was exposed to a variety of hip hop, gospel, and Afrobeats due to the Windy City’s diverse culture. Through these influences, SolÅce’s eclectic style was formed. Additionally, his wide vocal range as a tenor with a lower tone creates SolÅce’s sound. “The styles I utilize are done differently. I might blend typical R&B progression with a trap beat, take an R&B beat and fuse it with reggae or use an R&B sound with a classical four-string quartet,” he explained.

With layered tones, SolÅce adds subtle elements that push the emotional piece of the song. “I write about real-life experiences, but emotions, love, and relationships make the world go round. I love to have strings synthesized and layer harmonies,” he said.

Showcasing his style on his fourth single, “Op3rator,” SolÅce reveals his playfully sexy side in an R&B track destined to be a hit. Harkening back to when making a phone call required calling the operator to direct your call, SolÅce becomes the man who is there for his lady. The song has a slow club groove with enough bounce to be an addictive rhythmic masterpiece.

While SolÅce is a dedicated songwriter, the lyrics for “Op3rator” unconventionally came to him. “When I heard the beat, I vibed out and had a vocal pattern in my head, but the words didn’t come,” he said.

The following day in the shower, SolÅce got his inspiration - “I’m your operator, you can call me anytime” - was born.

Excitement for “Operator” is growing due to SolÅce’s previous successes. His first single, “Better Man 4U,” features M.A.N. Williamz has garnered over 99K Spotify streams. His sophomore single “Rearranging” is a ballad in the style of “Stuck With You” by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. The song is easy on your ears, and fans could not get enough of it, as it hit periods of 45 streams per listener.

SolÅce’s third release, “GlowdUp” is a club banger that collected more than 76k streams. The energetic track features Rekka and focuses on SolÅce as he ignores his haters and prepares for a night of uninhibited partying.

The accolades for SolÅce include being dubbed R&B Performer of the Session at the New York International Music Festival. He has toured as a keyboardist with two reggae bands and has songs used in independent movie soundtracks.

Currently, SolÅce is working on a five-song EP slated to release in the spring. The project involves collaborating with multiple artists and producers from Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Canada, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, France, and Israel. Through his worldwide collaboration with artists and producers, SolÅce is not just a Chicago-based R&B musician. He is a global rising star.
