Robbie Williams sparks Take That reunion talk
Robbie Williams believes he will share the stage with Take That again at some point and feels confident their paths will cross in the future.
The Angels singer first found fame with the hugely successful boy band in 1990 before stepping away five years later to pursue his solo career. While he is open to the idea of reuniting down the line, he has made it clear he does not expect to be involved in Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen’s upcoming return of The Circus tour.
While speaking on BBC Radio 2, Robbie explained to host Scott Mills: "Would I return to Take That to do the Circus again? I did love it last time.
"Not right now. I'm sure we'll all ride again, but it's not in my plans."
Even so, the 51 year old performer, who is set to release his new album Britpop next month, looks back fondly on the 2009 tour that ultimately paved the way for his return to the group on their 2010 Progress album and subsequent live shows.
Reflecting on that period, he said: "It's one of the best shows ever. That was what did it. Gaz came round to the house in Los Angeles, and he had a copy of the show.
"He played it me, and I literally stood, didn't sit, stood and watched it spellbound. Loved it, and I was like, 'I want back in.'
"The boys are redoing the Circus Tour, and it's a great idea. It's caught everybody's imaginations, and the tickets are doing incredibly well."
Gary, Howard and Mark are set to head out on the tour later this year as the remaining members of Take That, with Jason Orange, who left the band in 2014, not taking part.
Announcing the tour previously, the band said: "The Circus tour was one of our favourite experiences as a band and, in the years since, we’ve talked many times about how much we’d love to do it again one day.
"Well, that time has come! We’re so excited to welcome audiences old and new across the UK and Ireland to the spectacle of The Circus Live next summer. See you out there!"
