Niall Horan Hints At New Album And Shares Details About TV Romance
Niall Horan stopped by Fleur East and Will Best on the Hits Radio Breakfast Friday Fry Up this week, where he marked the reveal of his much awaited fourth studio album. During the relaxed and playful interview, the Irish pop star spoke about everything from jokingly being known as a "one song man" to the dinner gathering where he met his girlfriend.
The New Album: "Windows Down, Summer Vibes"
Following the reveal of his new record, Horan said the album explores a wide range of sounds and emotions. "I feel like it’s got a bit of everything," he told the hosts. "A bit of sexiness—when you think of sexy, you think me!—and there’s a bit of fear of losing that special person... it’s windows down, summer-type music."
Even though country music is having a huge moment worldwide, Niall said he prefers to be patient with his own plans. While he confirmed he would like to make a "country leaning album" at some point, he said he does not want to jump into it while so many others are doing the same. "I don’t want to do it at a time that everyone else is doing it," he explained.
Relationships And Friendly Competition
Niall also opened up about how his long term relationship first began, tracing it back to a casual dinner with friends. "There was a late addition, and she’s been my girlfriend since," he reminisced. "I found myself just wanting to do more of that [chatting] that evening and then for the rest of time."
When the conversation turned to which celebrity friend would be the most entertaining at a dinner party, Niall quickly picked Lewis Capaldi. "Lewis is the star of the show in every room he goes into," Niall joked. "Everyone is just pissing themselves laughing. He’s funny, and he’s always got the aux lead in an Uber."
The "Resident One Song Man"
Talking about his habit of popping up at other artists’ shows for brief guest appearances, the former One Direction member joked about his role. "I don’t do full gigs; I just come on and do the one song... I’m the resident one-song man! I’m the old guy now."
With his fourth album on the way, it looks like fans will soon be getting much more than just a single song from Niall as he prepares for a busy summer filled with new music.
