Ariana Grande launches legal case against unidentified hackers

Ariana Grande has launched legal action against a group of unidentified hackers.

According to Billboard, the singer alleges that the individuals broke into devices belonging to members of her trusted circle and took unreleased songs, personal photographs, and private footage that they later offered for sale online.

Grande filed the lawsuit in California on Monday, claiming the hacking operation continued for several years and targeted people close to her who could access material that had not yet been made public.

The legal filing does not name the suspected hackers. Billboard reports that Grande will probably ask the court for permission to subpoena internet providers and digital platforms in hopes of identifying those responsible through their online activity.

The lawsuit alleges that the group accessed accounts belonging to photographers, producers, and other collaborators who worked directly with Grande. They are accused of obtaining unreleased recordings, footage from studio sessions, music video content, private photographs, and additional confidential material before selling the files.

The complaint outlines several security breaches that reportedly occurred over a number of years. It claims that 45 unreleased songs appeared online before their planned arrival dates in 2023 alone. The latest alleged attack happened in 2024, when a phishing scheme reportedly convinced a technician to share Grande’s material.

Grande songs that have previously surfaced online include Fantasise, That Bih Is Mine, and White Tee.
