Travis Barker Wants His Kids to Avoid His Confrontational Side

Travis Barker hopes his children can avoid the confrontational side of his personality that he showed earlier in his career.

The Blink 182 drummer has opened up about how much his mindset has changed over the years, acknowledging that he regrets some of the ways he reacted in the past, especially during encounters with paparazzi.

Speaking with The New York Times, Travis said he wants his children, especially his son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, to take lessons from his own experiences and learn how to ignore the pressure and criticism that can come with being raised in the spotlight.

Landon and Alabama have both pursued careers in entertainment like their father and have built sizable followings online.

"I lead by example," Travis, 50, said. "I used to almost get in fights with paparazzi. I'm not proud of any of that stuff."

The musician admitted that he once struggled with his temper whenever he felt chased or deliberately provoked, but said he has since learned to respond in a calmer way.

"I used to have a temper when it came to people following us or just dumb stuff, I might be quick to react or be confrontational," he told the publication. "But I'm like, that ain't it, babe. It's just all noise. Stay running in the direction you're running in."

Travis shares Landon, Alabama and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya with his former wife Shanna Moakler. He and his wife Kourtney Kardashian, whom he married in 2022, also share a two year old son named Rocky.
