Ella Langley Breaks Chart Record With ‘Choosin’ Texas’

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has now spent 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving it the longest reign in chart history for a song outside the holiday category.

The track has moved ahead of Shaboozey’s 2024 smash “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. Both songs previously shared the record with “Choosin’ Texas” after remaining at the top for 19 weeks. If Langley stays at No. 1 for another three weeks, she will overtake Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has accumulated a record 22 weeks at the summit across the past seven years.

Even if “Choosin’ Texas” eventually surpasses “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as the song with the most weeks at No. 1, its lead may not last very long. Carey’s festive classic has regularly returned to the top of the chart for several weeks each December in recent years.

Langley’s breakthrough hit has already earned a six times platinum certification, and further milestones appear likely. She won every one of her seven nominations at the 2026 ACM Awards, establishing a new record for the most victories by an artist in a single year. Her honours included female artist of the year, while “Choosin’ Texas” claimed song of the year and single of the year. She later collected two American Music Awards for best female country artist and best country song. The celebrations are continuing, as “Choosin’ Texas” has also received a nomination for best country at the 2026 MTV VMAs.

The singer recently began the second leg of her sold out “Dandelion” tour. The run will continue throughout the fall, with forthcoming performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and two consecutive nights at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
