Hilary Duff Revisits Fan Favorite Song For ‘Laguna Beach’ Reunion
Hilary Duff has returned to one of her most cherished songs ahead of the Laguna Beach reunion special, recording a fresh version of “Come Clean” and releasing it unexpectedly on Friday, April 10.
Giving the song a more grown-up feel while still holding onto the spirit of her younger years, the Lizzie McGuire star delivers the familiar lyrics, “Let the rain fall down/ And wake my dreams/ Let it wash away my sanity/ ‘Cause I want to feel the thunder/ I wanna scream/ Let the rain fall down/ I’m coming clean.”
The updated version will be included on Hilary Duff – (Mine), the artist’s upcoming set of newly recorded versions of her biggest hits. The release is scheduled for Friday, April 18, arriving on a silver vinyl created especially for this year’s Record Store Day. With just 10,000 copies being pressed, only a limited number of fans will be able to pick up the refreshed takes on “What Dreams Are Made Of” and other throwback favorites.
“Come Clean (Mine)” is also set to appear in The Reunion: Laguna Beach, which debuts Friday on The Roku Channel. Duff’s original version, which climbed to No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004, was famously used as the show’s theme song at the time. Even so, Duff once joked during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2023 that she had never actually watched the series.
The How I Met Your Father actress is currently enjoying a strong return to music, releasing her first album in a decade in February and reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with Luck … or Something. Her seven month Lucky Me Tour is set to begin in June.
