BTS Kick Off Viral Campaign Ahead of 'Normal' Music Video Release
Global superstars BTS are preparing to release the much awaited music video and Korean version of "NORMAL," one of the standout songs from their fifth studio album, ARIRANG. The music video and single will premiere exclusively on Spotify on 17 July 2026 before becoming available across all major streaming services on 19 July.
Produced by Ryan Tedder, "NORMAL" reflects on the contrast between life in the worldwide spotlight and moments of personal solitude. RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook blend smooth sing rap performances with hard hitting kick and snare beats and psychedelic guitar sounds, creating a track that lets its emotional message shine through.
To generate buzz ahead of the release, BTS rolled out a humorous teaser campaign inspired by tabloid headlines in leading newspapers across the United States. Bold advertisements ran in the San Francisco Chronicle on 13 July and the New York Post on 14 July, featuring the attention grabbing headline: "BTS Seen in Bathroom Amid Mysterious Late Night Gathering."
The advertisement featured all seven members dressed in stylish black suits, photographed from behind while standing in front of a row of toilets. The tongue in cheek copy asked whether the scene "was entirely normal," encouraging fans around the world to search for hidden clues and post their own theories online, quickly sending the campaign viral.
As the group finishes the record breaking European leg of the BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG, they continue to enjoy a remarkable year. Released in March 2026, ARIRANG entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1, while its lead single, "SWIM," also reached the top of the chart.
With sold out stadium concerts worldwide and another creative promotional campaign capturing attention, the 21st century pop icons continue to showcase their unmatched global influence. The release of "NORMAL" is set to be the latest milestone in what is becoming one of the biggest years in BTS' career.
