The Rolling Stones Share New Track ‘Who You Callin’ Crazy’

The Rolling Stones have unveiled a new track titled Who You Callin’ Crazy, with jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine making an appearance.

The song will feature on Foreign Tongues Loose Lips, a deluxe version of the celebrated Foreign Tongues album, which is scheduled to arrive on November 27.

On the track, frontman Sir Mick Jagger sings: “If I seem nervous and close to falling apart, If I’m wriggling like a rat caught in a trap, My nose keeps twitching and I can’t stop blinking, I keep scratching but there’s nowhere to itch, Hey, I don’t like the way you look at me, I don’t want to be part of your gothic romance.”

The chorus features the lines: “Who you callin’ crazy? I need to know who you callin’ crazy, And what about you? You call yourself a lady.”

The release comes after Bad Luck Hideaway, a song that features the late Charlie Watts on drums.

The deluxe album contains five additional songs, with Where There’s A Will, Human Tide and She Still Comes Around joining the two previously mentioned tracks.

Fans of the legendary rock band will be able to purchase the release as a standalone vinyl record or a deluxe 2CD edition.

Foreign Tongues arrived in July and topped the charts across 14 countries.

Courtney, who previously contributed to Mick Jagger’s 1993 solo album Wandering Spirit, recently revealed that he had returned to the studio to work with the Start Me Up singer.

During an appearance on BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions, Courtney shared: “I recently spent another session in the studio with him [Jagger] a couple of weeks ago for The Rolling Stones.”

Speaking highly of the iconic frontman, he added: “Mick is an incredible artist.

“The entire world of pop music is so different from anything I’m familiar with.”

Reflecting on his earlier experience working with Mick, he recalled: “I played on one version of Mick Jagger’s solo album, but they ended up scrapping it. Then I received a call asking, ‘Can I fly out to LA tomorrow and record another version of the same album?’ Mick Jagger? Absolutely!”

In June, Mick revealed that he had already begun writing new material, which could eventually find its way onto another Rolling Stones record or be recorded by other musicians.

When NME asked whether he thought he had another album in him following the release of Foreign Tongues this summer, he responded: “Yes, it could become a trilogy [of records]… I’ve already started writing songs anyway. They might end up being for other artists, though. Sometimes, when you write something, you realise ‘that’s not right for me, but it might work for the [Red Hot] Chili Peppers’ or someone else.”

He continued: “I’m open to all possibilities. I have plenty of material, and some of it simply isn’t right for The Rolling Stones. That shouldn’t keep me from writing, should it? Whenever an idea comes to you, put it down on paper.”

Although another Rolling Stones release remains possible, the prospect of the band returning to the road is less certain. Keith Richards is reportedly reluctant to embark on another tour at the moment.

In a recent interview, bassist and guitarist Ronnie Wood said that he and Mick were keen to perform live again, although the band's lead guitarist was not currently pushing for a return to touring.

He told NME: “I know Mick is eager to get back out there, but Keith isn’t feeling the same way. Everyone needs to be enthusiastic about it for the tour to happen.”

Ronnie added that he would be ready to reunite with the band whenever they decided to move forward, while making clear that nothing had been arranged so far: “As soon as my bandmates tell me, ‘Let’s go’, I’ll be there. For now, though, nothing is planned.”
