Tame Impala announce new arena shows in the U.S.

By Mankaprr Conteh

As Tame Impala, Kevin Parker has spent the past decade shaping the sound of artists as different as Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty and British pop star Dua Lipa. Now he is turning the spotlight back on himself and his band. With a new record on the horizon, Tame Impala have revealed a U.S. tour that will start with two shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, continue with another pair at Inglewood’s Kia Forum, and wrap up at Oakland Arena in the Bay Area. Fans can register for ticket details here.

Just a day earlier, Tame Impala announced that their new album, Deadbeat, will arrive on Oct. 17. Alongside the news, they shared the single “Loser” and its accompanying music video. This marks their first full-length release since 2020’s The Slow Rush. In early June, Parker previewed a fresh Tame Impala track at a Barcelona nightclub, the first since his contribution to the 2023 Barbie soundtrack. By late July, the group returned with their first official single in two years, the high-energy dance track “End of Summer.”

Speaking about live performances back in 2019, Parker told Rolling Stone, “Being a personality onstage, that’s something I’ve been growing into.” He continued, “Saying fuck it and being that person who can rile up the audience. That’s someone I never saw myself as.”
