NLE Choppa Slams NBA YoungBoy, Says He Brings “Nothing Positive”
Memphis rapper NLE Choppa is back in the spotlight, this time with his new single “KO.” The track takes direct aim at NBA YoungBoy while also paying tribute to two hip-hop legends: Michael Jackson and 2Pac. Although it might sound like a lot happening at once, the song and video clearly deliver a focused message aimed at YB.
The song samples 2Pac’s classic “Hit ’Em Up,” and Choppa even channels Pac’s look in the video. Fans have noticed his continued homage to 2Pac ever since he shaved his head earlier this year. On top of that, he includes nods to Michael Jackson by wearing the iconic “Smooth Criminal” outfit and recreating scenes inspired by “Thriller.”
Right from the opening verse, Choppa makes his intentions clear with no hesitation. “YoungBoy, what? This the big boy league. I put one up in your gut under the Jesus piece,” he raps. He later criticizes NBA YoungBoy’s impact on younger fans, saying, “You poisoning the youth, nothing positive you do.”
NLE Choppa Throws Direct Shots

Online reactions quickly poured in, with social media users divided over the message. Some accused Choppa of hypocrisy, pointing out his own explicit lyrics. “Hol up..so the n--ga with songs like ‘Slut Me Out’ and ‘Let me n-- on your bu--t’ is talking bout poisoning the youth? Lmao,” one person wrote. Another added, “Right message, wrong messenger.”
The four-minute track is packed with aggressive bars and sharp personal shots. Choppa doesn’t hold back, rapping, “Just a n--ga with emotion, a breastfed b--ch. Yo' aura give me the ick. N---as like you make me sick.” Regardless of the backlash, it’s clear the record has people talking.
From start to finish, “KO” plays out like a lyrical fight. Beneath the disses, there’s also a layer of artistry that ties the whole concept together. Choppa blends intensity and homage, saluting cultural icons like 2Pac and Michael Jackson while calling out what he views as negativity in modern rap.
He’s making a statement both musically and visually. With a song titled “KO,” it’s clear NLE Choppa wants to deliver a knockout moment and remind everyone why he’s one of the most outspoken voices in hip-hop today.
