Kim Kardashian Opens Up on Why Kanye West Will Always Be Family

Kim Kardashian has shared new details about where she stands with her former husband Kanye West.

The reality television personality and the often controversial rapper share four children and went their separate ways in 2021 after being married for eight years. Their divorce was officially completed in November 2022.

During an interview with Complex on Thursday, Kim was asked about her current relationship with Kanye and confirmed that the two still remain in touch.

“We'll always be family,” she said. “We both know that. We will be OK, and there's so much love for our family. We want what's best for our kids.”

Kim also spoke about a TikTok video she posted in December, where she showed followers how she planned to wear a Yeezy shoe designed by Kanye while heading out in Aspen.

“I couldn't deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out,” the 45 year old explained.

In the original video, Kim spoke positively about Kanye’s work in fashion.

“I will say, there's nothing like a Yeezy heel. I don't know if they ever made these or just made them for me. I love when a shoe is tonal to the pant,” the SKIMS entrepreneur said.

Last year, Kim admitted that she was feeling “tested” by the 48 year old during an episode of her family’s series The Kardashians, while also dealing with a brain aneurysm diagnosis and other health concerns.

“I mean, I have psoriasis again,” she shared at the time. “I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect.”

Earlier this year, Kanye, who now goes by Ye, released a public apology addressing his antisemitic and racist remarks from recent years through a full page advert in The Wall Street Journal.

In the statement, the Stronger artist linked some of his unpredictable behaviour to a car crash that happened 25 years ago, which he said had “caused injury to the right frontal lobe of my brain,” as well as his bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2016.
