Pitbull Attempts Guinness World Record With Bald Caps at BST Hyde Park

Pitbull is calling on volunteers to help with an official Guinness World Records attempt at American Express presents BST Hyde Park for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

The “Fireball” star is set to headline the London festival on July 10 and is currently looking for volunteers to help count participants wearing the bald caps during the event.

An Instagram post shared by Pitbull and the festival announced: “In case you missed it, we’re going for a Guinness World Records title with Mr Worldwide, @pitbull and we need a squad of legendary volunteers to help make it official. Your mission (should you choose to accept it), count the shiny headed Bald E’s in the crowd and help us make history.”

The idea first started on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast after host Greg James encouraged fans to break the record shortly after Pitbull’s Hyde Park performance was revealed.

Pitbull later reached out to the radio host to confirm he was completely on board with the challenge, telling fans: “Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald E’s that’ll be putting it down on July 10th at Hyde Park. Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives… thank you. Dale!”

The challenge comes after a growing trend at Pitbull’s recent concerts, including his sold out shows at London’s O2 Arena, where thousands of fans showed up wearing bald caps inspired by the rapper’s iconic style. The fan movement, now known as “The Bald E’s,” has continued to grow throughout his I’m Back tour.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator will officially supervise the attempt. To qualify, everyone taking part must properly wear a bald cap with their hair hidden underneath the front and top sections, and all participants must gather together at the same time for at least one minute.

Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Festivals, shared: “We're so excited to host a [Mr] world [wide] record attempt at Pitbull's show in BST Hyde Park. We've broken a few world records in the past but this will truly be the time of our lives. Come one, come all, come bald.”

Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford also commented: “We look forward to adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist.”

Pitbull’s BST Hyde Park performance will also feature appearances from Kesha, Tinie Tempah, Lil Jon, and Los Tucanes de Tijuana.
