Shania Twain Enlists Josh Homme for New Bluegrass Track "Faded Blue Jeans"

Shania Twain has teamed up with Josh Homme for the release of their bluesgrass collaboration, Faded Blue Jeans.

The five time GRAMMY winner has shared the rugged new duet with the Queens of the Stone Age frontman, offering fans one final taste of her upcoming seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, before its release later this month.

Penned entirely by Shania, the song embraces the rebellious blend of rock and blues that influenced her growing up. Drawing inspiration from one of her teenage relationships, the track captures the excitement of first love and the feeling that nothing could stand in its way.

Fans can now pre-order a limited edition Faded Blue Jeans picture disc through her official online store.

Shania has said Little Miss Twain is the most personal album she has ever created, reflecting on the experiences and memories that shaped her before she became a global star.

She explained: “A lot of Little Miss Twain is reflective of my teens, my roots as well as the energy of the rock and R'n'B I loved so much, but still with that Western twang. Where I’m from, you don’t go anywhere on a horse you go on a snowmobile. I was dreaming about the Western lifestyle and I was living in a very different world than where I ended up.”

The new project arrives after the release of 2023's Queen of Me.

More recently, Shania made a surprise appearance with Harry Styles during his record setting 12 night residency at Wembley Stadium.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures is moving forward with Shania, a biographical film that will be directed by Leah McKendrick, with the country music icon also serving as a producer.

McKendrick said she was “honoured” to be leading the project, adding: “Long before I was making movies, I was shooting Shania music videos in my bedroom… I am honored. I am humbled. I am READY. Let’s go, girls.”

Little Miss Twain arrives on July 24. Faded Blue Jeans is available to stream now across all major music platforms.
