Cardi B Music Video Shoot Interrupted After Photographer Is Detained

Cardi B is preparing to release another music video, but someone reportedly caused problems during the production. According to TMZ, a photographer near the New York City set was detained on Monday.

Steven Sands, who is 70, traveled to Sunset Park in Brooklyn hoping to photograph the famous rapper. He reportedly ignored several directions and crossed the police barriers despite warnings from Cardi’s security team.

The incident resulted in Sands receiving a criminal court summons for disorderly conduct. NYPD officers placed him in handcuffs before removing him from the area. Authorities did not formally arrest the photographer, and he was eventually released.

Sands has offered a different account of what happened. During an interview with TMZ, he claimed Cardi’s crew positioned him behind large pieces of equipment, preventing him from taking a clear photograph.

The photographer attempted to move toward a space with a better view, but security reportedly told him Cardi would not approve. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t care what Cardi wants,” Sands replied.

That response apparently led to Sands losing access to the area as the situation intensified with security and the NYPD. His experience could serve as a warning for anyone considering similar behavior at a private production.
