Marlon Wayans and 50 Cent Exchange Jabs About the Diddy Documentary

By Aron A.

Things have become increasingly tense ever since Sean Combs: The Reckoning premiered on Netflix last week, and the conversation has centered mostly on Marlon Wayans and 50 Cent. Although Diddy is far from pleased with the documentary, 50 Cent, who worked on the project as the executive producer, has openly celebrated the docuseries performing well on the platform. Still, people have questioned Fif’s motives, and for understandable reasons. The series pieces together a long history of alleged abuse, tragedy, and violence connected to Diddy throughout his career, bringing the City College stampede, the deaths of Tupac and Biggie, the numerous accusations of sexual assault and rape, and his recent arrest into one continuous story. The complication is that, while the documentary is undeniably well executed, 50 Cent has held a strong personal bias long before the federal government charged Diddy with RICO violations.

Interestingly, several individuals have criticized 50 Cent for being involved with the documentary rather than congratulating him, mainly because they believe he does not genuinely care about Diddy’s alleged victims. Marlon Wayans has been especially vocal in his criticism of 50 Cent over Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which has now turned into a complete back-and-forth between the two. Below, we look at how the situation unraveled.

Marlon Wayans’ Talks Diddy Documentary

During an appearance on The Cruz Show, Wayans argued that Sean Combs: The Reckoning felt more like a personal attack than an unbiased investigation. He pointed out that 50 Cent’s conflict with Diddy has been extremely visible throughout the legal proceedings and even long before that, which makes the presented narrative harder to trust.

“You can create any narrative as a producer and as a storyteller,” he said while discussing the documentary. “I can create any narrative… It does not mean it is true. I can get interview. I can do this, I can get footage, and I could make you think this about that person. That does not necessarily mean it is true. 50 and Puff have a long term beef. It is personal. It is between him and Puff but before it is between the both of them, it is between them and God. Puff is down on his luck, and 50 is kicking a man when he is down. If luck ever turns on 50, you have to be careful what you put out. There is a karma to every action.”

50 Cent Claps Back

As Marlon Wayans’ comments spread across social media, he found himself also being criticized by Ja Rule, another long-time opponent of 50 Cent. Ja implied that he planned to create a documentary centered on previous allegations involving 50 Cent. While this did not directly involve Wayans, it certainly aligned with his remarks about karma catching up to people.

Still, 50 Cent, who is never known for staying quiet, responded quickly to Wayans. He posted an image from White Chicks with a blunt message that read, “Keep my name out your mouth boy.”

The Beef Continues

Wayans did not shy away from the exchange and returned fire with his own response. This time, he posted an edited image of the film 12 Years A Slave with 50 Cent’s face added, writing, “Now let’s think about this 50…”

Fif did not appreciate the jab and reacted by sharing an edit from Wayans’ appearance on Club Shay Shay where the comedian denied ever witnessing anything unusual at a Diddy party. The clip also included images of Marlon with Diddy and provocative scenes from his movies. “I am number one in forty nine countries. I want all the smoke, punk,” 50 captioned the post.

While out on the golf course, Marlon accepted 50’s challenge for the smoke and posted a video of himself calmly smoking a cigar. His caption, however, echoed some of Ja Rule’s earlier remarks. He spoke out against violence toward women while seemingly referring to past allegations involving 50 Cent. “Just enjoying my life and my @ligatridente cigars calm before the storm. For the record I do not condone any abuse of women period. Unlike some people who have a track record of domestic violence. I got five sisters and a mother I honor. I rep US ALWAYS. Do not let anyone create narratives … Marlon Lamont Wayans is an exceptional man,” he wrote. “Good day Curtis…”

AI Photos & The Pride Shoot

Wayans later posted an AI-generated picture showing Diddy and 50 Cent sitting together in a jacuzzi. “Just for the record… Bro… let’s correct the narratives Curtis. Rub a dub dub. STOP,” he wrote. Although he initially allowed people to believe the photo was real, Complex later confirmed it was produced using artificial intelligence.

This unexpectedly benefited 50 Cent, who flipped the situation back toward Wayans by using a similar tactic. He shared a photo of the comedian shirtless while wearing a rainbow bucket hat and holding a rainbow umbrella, presumably from a Pride-themed photoshoot. “Diddy got this fool trying to get at me. No AI that is your vibe boy. Keep my name out ya mouth,” 50 wrote.

Wayans Continues Flaming 50 Cent & Clears The Air

Although 50 Cent stayed mostly quiet, Marlon continued his jabs with a series of additional posts on Instagram. The first was a screenshot from one of 50’s early music videos that showed him shirtless. “Where you get all that baby oil from Curtis? Many men, many, many, many many men rub oil ‘pon me,” he wrote.

He then shared an edit of 50 Cent on The Breakfast Club, where Fif discussed how his feud with Diddy began after the disgraced mogul offered to take him shopping. Marlon paired this moment with a clip from Window Shopper where 50 takes Mase on a shopping trip. “Some people just be lying. Come on Curtis. Stop,” Marlon added.

From a broader perspective, it seemed strange that Marlon Wayans had gone to battle with 50 Cent over Diddy of all people. However, Marlon eventually clarified that he was never defending Diddy to begin with.

“I am going to make it abundantly clear: I am not here defending Diddy,” he said. “I am here because I got dragged into this because somebody asked me a question, and I had an opinion. Nobody is wrong for giving an opinion about any subject. Period. I am not here defending Diddy. Do not let the narrative fool you or get to you. Once again, somebody is creating narratives. This is my point. So please, look at the whole clip that I did and then look at what happens with the narrative, and that is what I am telling you. You people do not be sheep. Use your brain. Use your freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and do not ever let nobody bully you.”

The Final Shot?

While 50 Cent stayed relatively quiet and avoided further escalation, Marlon attempted to reignite the conflict on Wednesday (December 10th), but with little traction. Posting an image of 50 in a suit, he attempted another roast. “Curtis, today we gonna focus on your ugly. Hmmm where shall I start… so much ugly to choose from… It is a problem sir. How you ugly in a suit?! You may wanna lay off them roids. Ol smashing machine ass,” he wrote. “That button is struggling to keep yo fit fat ass in the suit. One deep breath and POW. Yo fat buff ass popping out that stuff like biscuits. Exhale champ. Buddy he rocking a Easter suit with Halloween face. Everyone in the hood is scared of the bully… except that lil funny skinny dude.”

So far, 50 Cent has not responded, but we will keep you updated if he decides to say anything.
