Melanie C Reveals She “Had A Chat” With Geri Halliwell About Her White Wedding Outfit

Melanie C has shared that she spoke to her Spice Girls bandmate Geri Halliwell-Horner after she arrived at her wedding wearing white.

The 52 year old singer married model Chris Dingwall in the Lake District last month, with Geri, Mel B and Emma Bunton among the guests celebrating with them.

Speaking to Australian radio station Kiis1065, Melanie was asked what she thought about Geri choosing a white outfit for the ceremony, despite the colour traditionally being associated with the bride.

“I had a quick conversation with Geri about it because white is the colour she loves most,” Melanie responded.

“She wears white all the time. Her lovely dress had a floral pattern, but it was still very white. I could not help having a laugh with her about it.”

Melanie also shared that “quite a few” of her favourite Spice Girls songs were played during the celebration, while 2Become1 accompanied her as she walked back up the aisle.

Although most of Melanie’s Spice Girls bandmates watched her marry Chris, Victoria Beckham was unable to attend because she was in the U.S. at the FIFA World Cup with her husband David Beckham.

Asked about claims that Victoria’s absence had left her “deeply disappointed,” Melanie insisted she completely understood why her bandmate could not attend.

“Victoria was genuinely sad that she could not join us. She was in New York with David because the football final was taking place,” she explained.

“She did try to find a way out of going. Football is not really her favourite thing, and she would not mind me saying that. However, the whole family was attending and David had responsibilities because of his role as a FIFA ambassador.”

Melanie later praised Victoria for creating her bridal gown and confirmed that they have since found time to see each other following the wedding.

“She designed my beautiful dress, of course, and kept sending me messages throughout the wedding day,” Melanie said.

“I later met up with her while I was visiting Ibiza, so we finally had the chance to talk properly. During the celebration, we kept her informed and regularly sent photographs.”
