Hilary Duff sparks talk of new music as she celebrates second album anniversary

Hilary Duff has given fans a hint that she may be working on new music.

On Wednesday, the actress and singer shared a post on Instagram to mark the 22nd anniversary of her second studio album, Metamorphosis.

The album, which included the singles "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean," was released on August 26, 2003.

“Clearly, I had to go digging around the internet for pictures from this time, as I’m not sure camera phones even existed. Sadly, all my hairstyles ARE very documented,” she wrote alongside a carousel of throwback images from her Metamorphosis era. “I do know this marker of time was a huge change in my being. I was embarking on something I had no idea would make such an impact on people’s lives, and mine.”

Although the record was a favorite among her fans, Hilary admitted that some of the songs no longer carry the “emotional depth I look for today.”

“(But) I know my 14/15 year old self meant every word. It sure as hell also landed on people at the right moment in time and set me off on a pretty epic adventure,” the 37-year-old shared. “Yesterday marked the 22nd anniversary of Metamorphosis… Although these are distant memories for me, thank you for showing up the way that you did.”

She ended her post by teasing the possibility of more music to come.

“To be continued…,” she wrote, adding a series of butterfly emojis.

The Younger actress, who is married to music producer Matthew Koma, last released a studio album in June 2015 with her fifth project, Breathe In. Breathe Out.
